During the past two years many analyses have been made to determine the concent of asbestos fibers in the air in the vicinity of the raw mix preparation and co areas in the Molding Material Department. These determinations were made for UB and C while they were running on asbestos filled products. Analyses have als made on dust emissions during raw mix preparation and compounding operations on These findings have shown that we are operating within limits established by th partment of Labor. The only exception to this was the lead filled product (543 Uhlt R-i which we no longer plan to make. In addition, modifications have been the Units B and C dust collections systems which have significantly improved th, collection capabilities. Current indications are that the Unit A dust collectl' is performing satisfactorily and will not require any engineering modifications the above facts in mind, we will begin at this time to move cautiously in the d of producing asbestos filled compounds on Units A and B as well as on Unit C. As a first step we will begin scheduling low concentration (less than 10% total asbestos materials on Unit B. For the tine being we will not run asbestos cont materials on Unit A even though our analyses show that it is safe to do so.
