We are currently finalizing the TSCA Problem Formulation documents for the first 10 chemical risk evaluations. These documents will refine the TSCA Scope documents that were published last year and constitute an additional interim step prior to the publication of the draft risk evaluations. We anticipate sending these documents for your review in the coming weeks. In addition, our office has been implementing the principles of systematic review in the risk evaluation process. This entails using a structured process for identifying, evaluating and integrating evidence for both the hazard and exposure assessments. This will ensure that assessments rely on the best available science and the weight of the scientific evidence, which are the science standards required by TSCA. We have prepared the attached draft document entitled, "Application of Systematic Review in TSCA Risk Evaluations", that describes the systematic review process that EPA/OPPT will use for chemical risk evaluations. The document also describes the data quality evaluation criteria that EPA will use to critically appraise the various data streams supporting the risk evaluations. Sierra Club v.
