Sanborn visited the Unknown trash dump site located near Blackwell, Oklahoma on 01/08/2020 for an unannounced inspection. There were no representatives present during the inspection. The inspection was conducted by authority of the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act to determine compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. FACILITY DESCRIPTION This inspection was in response to a complaint near a creek and pasture west of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, north off Highway 60. EPA received an anonymous complaint of household and construction trash being dumped in a tributary of Bird Creek. Section II - OBSERVATIONS I observed that trash, including building materials and appliances, had been piled into a running creek or tributary of Bird Creek. Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN Trash was observed in a flowing creek channel that leads to Bird Creek. Section IV - FOLLOW UP EPA water enforcement referred this site to the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality and Bureau of Indian Affairs.
