Co. held this day in their offices in the Widener Building, there wore presentt J. w, Gardiner, President 3, French Reeves, Ties President A* K. Wilson, Floe President Morris H. Merritt, Secretary Leonard 7* Beale, Director The meeting was called to order by Hr. J. W. Gardiner, who presided in the absence of Mr. Edward F. Beala, and Mr. Morris H. Merritt reported the ainutes of the meeting. The minutes of our meeting of June 2 were reed end approved. Mr.Reeves referred to an ordinance which is being presented before the City Council of Philadelphia to change the name of Aramingo Avenue to Harblson Avenue., In memory of Mr. Harbison who, prior to his death, was quite interested In soelal welfare activities in Kensington. On motion, duly mads andsseondsd, it was RSSGLFED, that ths proper officers of John T. Lewis ABraiu Co. bauthor!sod to oppose the change in npa::br ^rs.p.ins'e Avenue 'to Harbison Avenue. In further reference to the ohanges necessary in our power plant in order to be able to Obtain current from the Philadelphia Electric Company, Hr. Reeves reported that a regular OMR has been prepared for the total amount of $26,958*00 which shows a saving of approximately $7,^00.00 per year. This CAB it being sent to the national Lead Company in the regular way for their attention. Mr. Wilson reported that a comparison received from Mew fork giving the standing of the various branches of the National Lead Company as of Hay 1, 19kl on sales of regular paste white*lead and also on the new white-lead paint, showed the following! Lewis Branch - first place on regular paste white-lead -- 38.1$ Lewis Branch - fifth place on new white-lead paint -- 37.5$ Total average of above on combined tonnage basis shows Lewis Branch in first ! place at 3W* "n " Mr. Wilson also reported that our representatives are working very hard to establish the use of lead paint in place of aluminum paint, which is now not available, and find that we are the first on the job in the various State institutions, where our help is appreciated. Ur. Gardiner reported that he had written to the Selective Service Board asking for the deferment of Frank I. Evans of the Philadelphia Solder Co., as it would be extremely difficult to replace him in his present job. The purchase of a 19^1 Standard Chevrolet 2 door Sedan for the use of our sales representative, H. T.
