|... we went to court, where three California municipalities are urging a federal district judge to send their climate change nuisance cases filed against a host of fossil fuel producers back to state court where they were originally filed, arguing that the {companies have mischaracterized the suit as seeking broad limits on greenhouse gases and fossil fuel use.
Staying with that same case, coal mining firm Peabody Energy has successfully persuaded a federal bankruptcy judge to block the climate change nuisance claims, due to its recent bankruptcy agreement that the judge found discharges such claims.
And our daily news roundup looked at a claim by one energy professor that EPA chief Scott Pruitt's call to end wind and solar tax credits is "out of bounds" given that the topic is outside the purview of EPA and other energy sectors receive preferential tax and regulatory treatment.
