All ths trades are asking for iarga wage Increases in the range of thrsa dollars to five dollars par hour incraaass over a three year period. I aa faarful that a larga number of these contracts will be signed only _ after a long strike period.
Construction strikes sill .affect most of our product lines therefore I hops as ara not hurt by thsas sage negotiations.
parlits concrats sggrsgats sales ara moving vary all. 3# have baan hampered by not being able to run our parlite furnace at Trenton. The furnace is down for air pollution equipaant. It has bsen dosn for too seeks and ths projection is for the furnace to be down for at least another seek* tfe have baen getting some parlits froa Surkirk plant howsvsr because of heavy daoand aa sere f ^ c a d to buy parlite froa Pennsyl vania. Parlits in Allentown and also from Perlite Manufacturing in Priaoa, Penns; This has bsen vary costly but saa essential for ua to hold the perlite business. This is particularly trua with Concrete plank Coapany, Arlington, Mew Jersey as they do not raliah ths prospect of buying perlite froa us and ara looking for reasons not to glvs their business to us.
Oeraody Foltz & Pray will be starting their first Dri Pac job
(8,000 bags) in aid-3ay. Henderson Johnson also haa a number of smaller
jobs which will be applied during ths sonth of aay.
During April tee set up BcSrady Roofing Coapany of Portland, Seineae a Peroadsck applicator. These people ara well respected by general contractors in ths Portland area. About ten years ago ScSrady had the . ' ineulrock franchise. They gave it up to go into steel deck erection. The steal deck market in Portland area is decreasing and the wood fiber on ths rise. Consequently they want to gBt back into the wood fiber . business. They era in position to take carloads. I feel they will help us generate sobs Permadack business in that area.
Sonokota sales continue to go vary strong. s sold 20,000 bags during April. Sales during the month of aay should be especially strong if local construction strikes don't class the jobs dawn.
All spray fireproofing in the city of New York has bean shut

down, flo cna knows where to turn and most of ths spray applicators are
taking a wait and see attitude. The unanswered question is who is going
to pay for the increased costa required to comply with the new regulations'.
The ?Jaw York ruling atatoa that all spray fireproofing containing asbestos is subject to these regulations. This Includes Sonokota however ao aro hopeful of getting a waiver on Sonokota at loasl; until our non-
aabestoa Sonokota Is on the market.

correct, their charge probably will not go into effect sorerice in
June, This definitely will place then ln~the drivers seat, for once
70U lose an account because of price, it is extremely difficult to
recover them. I would like to go on record for being in favor of
seeting their price of $ 1.22 per bag if they do not increase their price by May 15th. If we 0 this I feel it will force thea to take
immediate action.

Mono-Kote - Indications of Job awards to us for Mono-Koje are increas
ing. Accounts we have never been able to sell before are phoning us for inforaation and prices. 3y the 15 th of May I hope to*have been
able to see all of our accounts and to increase our price to the $2.35
basis. To say the least, we have tried to use all the propaganda about
asbestos fiber to our benefit.
Sales for May appear to be good. The building, trades in Baltimore have
settled their strike with an increase to some trades^as much as 5^.25
over three years plus fringe benefits. Therefore some <rchect?>Lre
concerned about placing their jobs out for bid because'" Limy had design
ed thi$ projeots very~close to the budget flgdre/ however, with it all.
May should show increased sales for the Washington District.
