Level must be less than 85% in order to put material in the bay. 2. CONNECT GROUNDING CABLE TO TAR BUGGY FRAME, AND CHECK INTEGRITY OF CABLE. 3. REMOVE PLUG FROM 2" HAMMER UNION TAR BUGGY, CONNECT HOSE, AND CLOSE BLEEDS ON TRANSFER LINE AT WEST END OF MAIN BAY. Use brass mall (hammer) on hammer union to avoid sparks. 4. ADD WATER TO VENT SEAL fc>OT AND OPEN WATER TO VENT SCRUBBER. Also visually check the lip seal for water. If there isn't at least 6", it is possible to blow classifier material out of lip seal causing an environmental release. Add water to lip seal if necessary. Rotameter on vent scrubber max. flow is 2.8 gpm, set at 90%. 5. CONNECT 15 PSIG NITROGEN TO BUGGY. CHECK PRESSURE ON TAR BUGGY PRIOR TO OPENING NITROGEN BLOCK VALVES. Connecting 90 psia nitrogen is not al1 owed. This causes the pressure in the classifier to build up, forcing material to be blown out of the lip seal or dip legs. The result is a geyser that could splash the operator and cause an environmental spill. 6. CONNECT AIR TO VIBRATOR ON BUGGY AND TURN ON AIR TO VIBRATOR WHILE UNLOADING. SL 002485 The vibrator emits about 100 db so hearing protection is required for anyone standing within 30' of the buggy. 7. SLOWLY OPEN VALVE ON TAR BUGGY UNLOADING LINE. MAKE SURE 6" BLOCK VALVE IS ALSO FULLY OPENED. Since introducing organics into the classifier creates vapors, the 2" valve should be cracked open at first. If the scrubber stack appears to be properly venting (no vapor coming out of the seals), open the valve about 30%, then to 50% as the pressure in the buggy decreases. Do not open the valve all the way. A half face respirator is required for this step. 8. WHEN PRESSURE GAUGE READS ZERO, SWEEP BUGGY WITH NITROGEN FROM 15 PSIG REGULATED DROP. Pressurize buggy to 15 psig, then block nitrogen and open valve slowly to classifier. A half face respirator is required for this step. 9. WHEN TAR BUGGY IS EMPTY, BLOCK OFF NITROGEN AND AIR TO THE VIBRATOR. BLEED AIR AND NITROGEN DOWN PROPERLY AND DISCONNECT HOSES. A half face respirator is required for this step. 10. BLOCK 2" AND 6" VALVES AT THE BUGGY AND 6" VALVE AT CLASSIFIER, AND OPEN TOP BLEED AT CLASSIFIER.
