As you suggested, I contacted Mr. Jim Hammond and he was kind enough to visit the plant with me on Sunday, February 10, 1957, After studying the plant set-up and the biological re sults recently obtained from the human samples in the plant, Mr. James Hammond was kind enough to outline a sampling procedure for this plant. He feels that with this sampling procedure outline, the city industrial hygiene engineer, Mr. Allen Love, shall be able to ob tain satisfactory air samples for analysis. Mr. Hammond feels that the city health laboratory under the direction of Hr. Wenbe is able to analyze these samples for their lead content in a satisfactory and dependable manner. In this manner a satisfactory industrial hygiene survey can be performed at no cost to management. After the results of this survey becomes known, Mr. James Hammond has offered to suggest corrective engineering procedures which management has agreed to install as long as the cost does not become excessive. These engineer ing steps will be taken in conjunction with the suggestions made by Dr. Robert Kehoe in the letter which you read. I shall keep you informed of our progress. Sincerely yours, William .
