Mr. Alton L. Jones JOPLIN INSULATION PLANT
Dear Alton:
Subject: 'Caution* Notices Cement Bags
JUH 8 1954
.
Following are the answers to the questions in your letters of May 28 and 29:
1. You have a good eagle eye, Alton, for the word in the Caution* notice was misspelled by Jack Barnhart in his notes, and that was the word which we sent along to you. Accordingly, the word should be correctly spelled as pneumoconiosis.
2. Please follow the layout that was sent you, and make the
size of the word caution** as indicated thereon. In other
words, do not over-emphasize the word "caution by making it
the same size type as "instructions." Please follow the lay
out.
.
3. I had no way of knowing you do not order "33" Cement bags.
Accordingly, we have made a layout and turned it over to Lou Montant,
4. In answer to your question about "43" Cement, the name has
never been registered. Consequently, we cannot use the (R) symbol.
I believe this clears up all current matters on bags.
Very truly yours / )

Mr. Alton L. Jones JOPLIN INSULATION PLANT
Dear Alton:
Subject: Inclusion of "Caution- notice on reprints of One-Cote, Super 66, 33 and 43 Bags
Attached is a One-Cote Cement bag to which has been affixed a layout of the -Caution" notice which is to be printed on the above mentioned four bags when reprinting time comes up. Since the notice is the same for all bags and the position of the notice is the same for all bags, this one layout should suffice.
We are also attaching a typewritten copy of the Caution notice in the event the legibility of the handwritten copy on v the bag is not too clear. You will notice, too, Alton, that the -Caution- notice will be printed in the same color of the
ag on which it goes, thus avoiding a second color printing.
Very truly yqdrs,
WFMc /8s

.Je have two questions to ask and one statement to make about the reouest
contained m your letter.
uie re4uest
1 .. In the xrarding of the message, should the third from the last
word be spelled "pneumoconiosis" instead of pneumocoriosis?
-,
2.. Should we suggest the word CAUTION be of the same s i z e Z 'T W *
'
word INSTRUCTIONS in the present printing, with the balance of
uhe message in similar type sise as the instruction data? This
we would do without any other information being available, but
you may wish slightly larger type, perhaps.
3 .. The Joplin Plant does not produce "33" Cement nor does it have
anything to do with the ordering or printing of the oroduc-
pac.cages. We assume you will handle this reauest direct w^th
the producer.

w ? n rece^ t of 'rur answer, we Trill forward the instructions to the oa_ na.cer, witn appropriate changes in the design numbers.
