Under date of Febru ary 22nd he wrote us that one' of the employees at their plant in Clearfield, pa. (I presume a bulk loading point) was taken sick and was advised by two different doctors that his trouble was due to lead poisoning from the handling of Ethyl Gasoline. He did not know anything more about the case and suggested we have one of our field men look into it. This we did and Ted Littlefield writes under date of March 13th in accord with attached copy of letter (which is addressed to Jim Boudreau, the new New York division manager who took Torn Ronan1s place). '' Instead of one case there seems to be two men involved. While we have not received any claims direct from thesemen, in view of the extent of the feeling that seems to have beenaroused and the number of doctors that have been consulted, don't you think it would be a good idea for one of your staff to visit Clearfield and try to straighten out these matters. Of course we leave this entirely to your discretion and I would thank you to let me know what you are doing about it. Ted Littlefield is going to be in the vicinity of New York City for some special blending operations for the next week or so but if you would let me know in advance doubtless we would be able to relieve him so that he could meet your doctor, say, in Pittsburgh if you think this necessary. 0000561
