Subject
COMPREHENSIVE VCM LEAK SURVEY
In the past few years there have been three comprehensive VCM Leak Surveys conducted by the Plant Process Engineering Department. This consisted of measuring the VCM concentration of every flange, valve, and seal in the plant and then repairing any leaks found. These surveys were done as requested and on no certain schedule as shown below:
Approximate Date Survey Started
Date Of Final Report
Survey #1 October 1980 Survey #2 August 1981 Survey #3 July 1982
February 3, 1981 October 8, 1981 November 11, 1982
I would propose that the plant normally do one comprehensive survey per year. With the fixed point monitoring system and the weekly leak patrol survey, this comprehensive survey done once per year should be adequate. This could be put in the work calendar to start each August.
Please return your comments on this proposal to me.
