Hi Jim - Thank you for meeting our Sportsmen for the Boundary Waters team last week about the withdrawal study now underway for Superior National Forest lands in the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Our team members at the meeting were: 1. Steve Piragis, owner and operator of Piragis Northwoods Company, Ely, Minnesota (the largest recreation industry employer in the Ely area). Steve is Chair of the Boundary Waters Business Coalition, a group of over 250 businesses who support the withdrawal. 2. Jessica Wahl, Outdoor Industry Association 3. Lukas Leaf, sportsman outreach staff for Sportsmen for the Boundary Waters 4. Steve Kline, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership 5. Bob Ward of Fabrizio Ward. Fabrizio Ward was the chief pollster for President Trump's presidential campaign.
One highlight of the Sportsmen campaign that we would have shared at the meeting but for the time crunch is a Simms Fishing video for our partnership Save Our Streams. Simms is located in Bozeman, Montana, and is among the several hundred businesses and sportsmen organizations supporting the withdrawal of Superior National Forest lands to protect the Boundary Waters. Here is a short video of the partnership:

We look forward to future meetings to discuss in greater detail the Boundary Waters, its values, and its vulnerabilities.
Thanks.
Becky
