To protect EU citizen and the environment from hazardous chemicals, the implementation of the strategy must be ambitious. At ChemSec, we are working to support an ambitious implementation of the strategy as well as a clean Circular Economy. With this in mind we wouldliketo request an online meeting with you and your colleagues to have a dialogue about how the level of ambition of the chemical strategy can be kept high as well as how to achieve a clean Circular Economy. We - ChemSec - are an NGO aiming to reduce the use of hazardous chemicals by cooperating with companies and showcasing success stories and possibilities to policy makers. Read more about our work here: https://chemsec.org/. We are observers in several ECHA Committees and stakeholder at CARACAL and have during the last 10 years focused on an effective REACH implementation. A few weeks ago we launched a report on the chemical aspects of circular economy, highlighting the potential financial benefits of phasing out problematic substances from recycled materials, creating non-toxic material cycles. You find the report here: https://chemsec.org/app/uploads/2021/02/What-goes- around_210223.pdf We have good relations with many ambitious companies willing to increase their use of recycled material, but they are struggling to find non-toxic supply. Our dialogues with them have given us very useful insights in the challenges and opportunities of a non-toxic circular economy. We are happy to tell you more about these insights in a meeting. We also hope to tell you about our work on PFAS (and companies asking for regulation of these group of chemicals), Safe and sustainable criteria and the concept of "essential use". We hope you would find this relevant and have time for a short on-line meeting with us at your convenience. I am looking forward to hearing back from you. If you have any questions regarding the topics above or other matters related to chemicals and/or circular economy, please feel free to contact us.
