Tenta using the short cat technique which we thought might work that you were unable to observe any silicate fibers in the specimens so prepared However from the third paragraph of your letter we observe that you feel that if three four or five cigarettes are smoked in a reasonably normal manner into a small quantity 15 cc of acetone followed by centrifugation a quite satisfactory sample can be obtained in a reasonable time If this procedure will work for making the comparisons with which we are concerned we would say by all means to go ahead We wish to thank you again for writing us on May 2nd and hope that you will let us hear from you again as to how your modified method works Very truly yours P.
