Hope you are having a good weekend.
See note from Labor. I would need you to join me on my call with them. I would be looking to you to answer their questions. Besides yourself, who else would join? Thanks.

Aurelia -
I appreciated your phone message from Friday, and yes I had left for the day. Now as we prepare to begin the week ahead, I wanted to get in touch by email. First, I want to introduce you to the Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS) at the Department of Labor. https://www.dol.gov/vets/ and http://veterans.gov/. VA referred your request to us since DOL is responsible for veteran employment. We work with States and local homeless services providers to fund job training and placement activities that could provide access for veteran candidates interested in training and jobs provided by DOI/NFWF.
We have some initial thoughts, and also a lot of questions about how this might work and next steps to determine feasibility. My senior managers will be in a leadership conference beginning Tuesday, so I would like to try and have an initial conversation with you and some of your staff. I've copied my assistant Alcana Johnson who can try to put a call together based on your availability.

Thanks for hosting the meeting this week.
We should talk about next steps. If the next meetings will feature Peabody (Lazard) in the same confrontational role, I'm not sure the owners, including SRP, are inclined to participate. This was clearly an attempt to start shifting the blame. It is a desperate and unfortunate shift in the discusssions. The owners have been nothing but transparent in the process thus far. Peabody's approach through Lazard was insulting and condescending. If there is a "narrow self interest", as described by George, it is from Peabody and not the owners.
SRP is more than willing to participate if we feel the mtgs can be productive and we have appreciated the collaborative process experienced before this meeting.
Please let me know some times when we can talk next week tondiscuss next steps.
Mike
