With respect t o the b i l l , I am mindful of my failu r e to warn you in advance of the cost of carryin g out such an aly ses, and sin ce t h is fact o r say have some in fluen ce on your con sideration of my fu r th er advice, I su ggest th at you le t me know 'whether i t i s burdensome. I- would su ggest the follow in g procedure fo r cer t ain fu r th er observation s. You should wait u n t il sever al ad d it ion al r ain s during the next two or th ree months have washed your r oof and eavetroughs (while the pain t i s agin g), and then, in the midst of a good r ain , co lle ct another specimen of water (pr efer ably of somewhat lar ge r volume) fo r examination. Meanwhile one of us w ill make a v i si t to your neighborhood and determine whether th ere i s a lik e ly source of lead th at might be reach in g your r oof In curren ts of a i r . He have good reason fo r looking in to such in ciden ts as t h is, in search of fact o r s th at may in flu en ce, em n slig h t ly , exposure to lead of persons in th e gen eral population . Moreover, we sh a ll wish t o follow up t h is n at t er by th e procedure suggested above, even i f you h esit at e to incur any fu rth er c o st s. I t may be t h at we sh a ll con sider i t wise fo r you t o clean out your c ist e r n , and t o determine the lead content of any sediment in i t .
