Vinyl Chloride
Analysis: PVC resins and films
Dear Duane:
This letter will confirm our telephone conversation of" May 29, 1974, concerning the vinyl chloride monomer analysis which I reported to you. The vinyl chloride analyses 'are essentially completed; however, there will be some delay in getting the vinylidene chloride results. As of yet we do not have a satisfactory method of analysis to determine residual vinylidene chloride in dry r sins and films. In the case of a latex sample, presently, we inj ct th "neat'* sample into the gas chromatograph, thus getting both vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride simultaneously.
Tabulated in Table I and attached to this letter are th vinyl chloride results. As can be seen from these data, all of the samples contain 2 ppm vinyl chloride or less. The limit of detection for the method is 1.5 ppm with an accuracy of 0.5 ppm.
If I can be of further assistance don't hesitate to call.
