ETHYLPORT-BUENOS AIRES Dr.Robert A.Kehoe Kettering Laboratory of Applied Physiology University of Cincinnati Cincinnati,Ohio,U,S.A, Buenos Aires,December 23rd. 1942 Dear Dr.Kehoe, During this period of emergency it is becoming inevi table,at certain Ethyl Plants,to exceed the maximum of 6 blends per month, I;^ have always recommended in such cases that no man should blend more than 6 time3 a month,though the Ethyl Plant may have to be operated a greater number of times,but at certain points,due to shortage of personnel,even this is becoming exceedingly difficult to enforce. In normal times we can insist on the modical regula tions being followed to the letter,but in times like the present I think you will agree that we must be a little more elastic. To quote certain cases,at one point 2 blenders were obliged to work in the Ethyl Plant for 80 to 100 hours in the month, I should be very glad to have your views on this whole question and to hear whether,as a temporary measure,you would agree to the opera tors making more -than 6 blends a month provided they have a breah of 2 to 3 day3 between each day's work in the Ethyl Plant,and provided they are examined by the doctor,say,once a month.
