Rhodes to update Bornstein on toxicology. Before getting into the dark side of our business, Bornstein vas probed on vhere they were on their new product line containing either lUU or 2hh. He advised that they had decided to use 2^14, as they found it to be more efficient and they can use less of it. The product is a two component adhesive that will be thermoset between panels. It is a completely different material from the original plywood adhesive containing that Bornstein invented for Georgia Pacific. This is also his baby, and although they still recommend silica over asbestos to their customers, he is committed to 2hk for this product line. They have decided to add the 2kk at their plant locations, and thereby take the OSHA asbestos 'question out of the hands of their customers. Dr. Bornstein expects that they will begin plant production of the new adhesive anywhere between 3-6 months from now with the first GP plant beginning to use it located in Conway, North Carolina. Other GP plant users will be in Lufkin, Texas ana Crossett, Arkansas. I guess you have to go where the wood is, but most of the plant locations are in the wilds and will be a challenge to try and cover. Bornstein advised that GP has 17 plants across the country capable of mailing the adhesive, but most likely only 12 of them will. Dr. Rhodes proceeded to input to the good doctor the toxicology and regulatory story on 2U4, and a copy of our February 1 paper on the subject will be sent to him. Dr. Bornstein will be fighting the internal toxicology issue for iis, and our hope is that v:e got through clearly enough to him during the discussion with enough ammunition for him to do it.
