Sweeney - 19D Safety File The January, 1985 HCN Complex Unit/Craft Safety Meeting was held on January 30th in the HCN Complex Conference Room at 0800 hours. Present were the following: A. H. Micheletti J. Norris D. O'Neal A. Urbani R. A. Watts G. Ware The December, 1984 safety meeting minutes were reviewed. 1) The concern about dismantling of Dept. 19 was discussed. All members feel that this job is being done very well with very few safety related problems. 2) The use of chlorine cylinders was discussed. It is our understanding that a Loss Prevention Review and some type training will be done before all departments go to the one ton cylinders. The Chariman will discuss train ing with the maintenance trainer. 3) A discussion about the traffic near the HCN storage resulted in the following ideas. a) Would lowering the blue warning lights help stop traffic. b) Stripe street with yellow paint and post "slow" signs. These ideas will be discussed with the plant safety engineer. SC 12363 LAM013557 2- - NEW CONCERNS 1) HCN Storage Reduction Some are concerned that this project may increase risk within the plant. Hopefully, a Loss Prevention Review will identify these risks and action may be taken to minimize these risks. The results of the LPR will be discussed with this group at the next meeting. 2) HCN Emergency Drills The group was asked to help in improving our HCN emergency drills. They are aware of the importance of such drills, however, total involvement is not always present.
