My notes indicate that I returned the ballot on July 20th with a negative vote and the explanation that ,rUniroyal does not feel it can continue to support this research in view of other commitments." Perhaps I should explain our thinking. We did not intend to indicate that the research is poorly thought out, just that we do not feel we can put more money into vinyl chLoride. Unfortunately, we do not have anyone competent to evaluate the proposal adequately. It appears to be well thought out. However, 1 fear it is a case of closing the bam door after the horse is stolen.
