The Technical CojfB'iittee met briofly with tho Fiber Testing Committee to discuss the ASTH Specification on Hagnetic Rating. Sufficient data and guidelines are now available for the rovislon of thia specification around the TAN Analyzer. Hr. Lincoln has provided schematic drawings and Hr. Walter Smith has written sample prep*
aratlon data that will be incorporated.
Moat of the Technical Committee's time was used in-work-on the ASTH Specification D-1118 for Hagnetic Rating.
Other specifications outstanding are a continuation of earlier work, and answers and revisions from government agencies are expected. These Include:
1. National Stockpile Spec.P-3-RU. on Snlnnable Asbostos Fibers. A change in li.R. was requested.
2. IHL-I-3053 Electrical Insulation - it was recoimended that thia entire specification be rewritten.
3. MIL*P-l6U.0ti, Asbostos Packing - change suggested in the burnout procedure.
U. HHP-4.1-C, Asbestos Ropo and Wick - change in weights and tolerance were rocosuiended.
The remaining ASTH Specification to be revised is B-1573* Heat Ag ing.
