Engelhardt, Von Bodungen and Tanner relative to our Hydrocarbon Compliance Schedule, it was requested that we supply a memorandum for their file stating the temporary operations which will result in some emissions of smoke and HC1. These temporary operations are as follows: Among other efforts to speedily reduce vinyl chloride monomer emissions to a minimum, we are in the process of piping all of our pressure releases (primarily tank car venting) to our pond flare which is described in our Compliance Schedule, approved by the Commission on June 6, 1974. We will minimize any smoke resulting from this temporary operation. After implementation of our Hydrocarbon Compliance Plan, these emissions will be routed to an absorber and be returned to the process. Please contact us if you require any further action on our part.
