Deer Dr. King,
Don informs ne that you v/ish an estimate of the incidence of asbestosis in the industry.
Your recent answer to questions in the Legislative Assembly contains all the information available, i.e..
. %Five out of 251* workers were diagnosed
as suffering from asbestosis or roughly 5 in an x-ray survey which included all the workers *t "'ittencom.
All the workers in the asbestos industry will be x-rayed again early in 1959, and it should be possible to gain a more reliable indication of the in cidence of asbestosis.
If the Hine .orkers' Relief Act is amended, I '.'ill re-classify, after a clinicsl examin ation, the previously diagnosed cases.
Yours sincerely,
J. HclTULTY
