For your information, the Environmental Control Committee will be meeting on May 8, 1979. Also, the Subcommittee on Labor Standards of the House Committee on Education and Labor will be holding hearings on asbestos on May 8, 1979. AGENDA 1. Install Mr. George L. Bowen as new Chairman. 2. All yards are requested to provide number of mandays which OSHA inspectors have spent in individual yards each month for the past 12 months, if possible. 3. Information exchange on use of fire jret.ardent mater ial for protecting welding and burning operations. 4 . Briefing on Workers' Compensation activities and meetings with Congressman Beard in New Orleans April 16-18, 1979. 5. Exchange of experiences with asbestos litigation, claims and other relevant information. 6. Update report on partial stay ruling on OSHA lead standards and SCA legal action. 7. New Business WORKING LUNCH i The afternoon will be devoted to a markup and rewrite | of the "Project Safeyard" report- As per agreement with \ ! 2 the Maritime Administration, the Industry Advisory Commit tee will finish the report without Safety Sciences Corpora tion and Long Beach Naval Shipyard.
