Dear Fitzi Mr .Mitchell of the Shell Oil Co. called me up with the following problem, -- One of their customers has a well which has become contaminated with leaded gasoline, which lias of course risen to the top of the water. Is there any likelihood of the water being affected by the lead, that is will the lead be absorbed to any extent by the water. They propose to draw off the water from beneath the gasoline level, and wondered if there would be any danger from the lead.
