As a result of our surprise findings of dioxins ..in the retained sample of the "Sturgeon OCP/C tankcar," I under stand we are now going to analyze additional OCP/C samples to determine if dioxins/TCDD is typical. While we are doing this test, should we not go one step further and analyze again for dioxins in POP and 2,4 DCP (and possibly SANTOPHEN I if PCP shows dioxins)?
I am concerned that^in our first look for dioxins in OCP/C
about a yea^
v p Tfound Basically .juJne^and now we are
finding about 800 ppra of which some is the TCDD. This
probably will not be a serious issue with our OCP/C
customers (EPA???) since they are familiar with dioxins
plus when they further chlorinate the OCP/C the TCDD will
disappear. But, I am afraid this is not the case with our
PCP/2,4 DCP/S-I customers and the reaction could be detri
mental to our business from a sales/environmental standpoint.
Therefore, I recommend we take another look at our entire
chlorophenol complex to avoid another surprise and also to
