A large fraction of this waste might need to be disposed of as hazardous waste. - For some specific uses, a take-back scheme could be set up from the supplier of the articles containing PFAS (for example, electrolysis membranes) - Ecolab confirmed that there is a lot of interest also in the US for management of PFAS, including waste, and mentioned the recent Senate bi-partisan bill on PFAS remediation - Cefic will launch a LRI project on analytical methods for PFAS - COM mentioned the on-going discussion on limit values and analytical methods under the different water legislation and advised to invite the relevant colleagues for future discussions on this topic. COM also mentioned the work done on waste containing specific PFAS for the amendment of Annex V of the POPs Regulation - Veolia underlined the need for clear rules for water treatment, that take into consideration the PFAS most likely to be monitored.
