The attached table from NIOSH lists the cases of angiosarcoma accepted by the pathologists as typical vinyl chloride induced angiosarcoma. The Bridgeport G.E. worker and the accountant in a fabricating plant have been eliminated. The two cases who are still alive were not included in my calculations which follow the table.

Recognizing that the big build-up of the industry came in the '50 and '60's and with a 20 year median period between first exposure and diagnosis, there has been no rapid build-up as was feared. It is likely that improvements in new plants offset volume. 1 would anticipate that there might be a slight increase in incidence over the next few years followed by a decline throughout the remainder of the century.
