1 Oregon, in 1949 to '51 and majoring in physics and 2 mathematics. 3 1951 I decided to get more into 4 engineering. I went to Portland University for 5 general engineering in 1951. 6 I decided that I really liked mechanical 7 engineering, and I didn't have enough money to go to 8 Oregon State at the time, so I worked for two years. 9 1954 to '56 I went to Oregon State 10 University majoring in mechanical engineering. 11 Upon graduation there, I had a job plus 12 education offer from Chrysler Corporation, so from 13 1956 to '57 I was with Chrysler Corporation at their 14 central engineering and attending the Chrysler 15 Institute of Engineering. 16 I left Chrysler then and went to work at 17 Ford Motor Company in 1957. I did graduate studies 18 thereafter at University of Michigan, Rackham Center 19 in engineering mechanics for about four years, and I 20 have taken a fair number of graduate courses from 21 various schools in mostly material science and Page 2850 ; ;
