It is further stated in the standard that the designated competent person shall be trained in all aspects of asbestos and its removal related procedures. The standard also requires that the training of the competent person be conducted by a comprehensive course such as one conducted by an EPA Asbestos Training Center. There are five - training centers in the U.S^, one of them is in the University of Kansas. . . L f * '* The National Asbestos Training Center, the University of Kansas, has agreed to come to our location to conduct this training. I have already talked to each of you about this plan and have agreed to the number of participants you will send for this training.
