Dear Dr. Hussey* Thank3 very much for sending me the copy of the report of your Medical Board. I am very glad to have seen it, and I think it contains much useful information. There ere a number of questions which I might raise concerning it, but these would be of very little importance in the main. From my point of view, the report is interesting as a matter of record because of the care with which various types of cases have been tabulated. I think these reports will be useful additions to our vital statistics in this field of work. I do not need to point out to you that where the information is obtained and reported with less care, It Is often misleading rather than helpful. There is one question on a point which struck my attention by accident, that I would like to raise. In table 5, on the 14th page, (beginning with the white leaf of the booklet), under lead poisoning, I find six cases of lead poisoning referred to in connection with garages or service stations. Inasmuch as I know of no bonaflde cases of lead poisoning from contact with or ex posure to leaded gasolines, I cannot but wonder whether there were six cases of this type compensated in your state. If it is not too much trouble,...you\miigbLt give me a little information on these, since, as you probably know, I have been investigating this problem and have been reporting such cases of complaints as have come to our attention to the Public Health Service. I may have some complaints from Maryland during the years indicated, and I shall look into the matter to find out.
