Process Description: CW Metals accepts ferrous and non-ferrous metals for recycling from the general public and industrial suppliers. The facility accepts cars and refrigeration components. The facility sorts light iron, aluminum, copper scrap, and other metals into piles of like material. Sorted metals are loaded onto trucks for transport to a metal shredding or non-ferrous metal recycling facility. Staff Interview: Facility staff stated that it does not accept appliances. The facility will only accept cars if they have been processed prior to arrival at the facility. However, the facility rarely receives cars and does not have vehicle processing on site. No refrigerant recovery is perfo1med on site. The facility does not require docwnentation of the fate of refrigerant in items delivered for recycling that previously contained refrigerant. CLOSING CONFERENCE Compliance Assistance: We gave an overview of the regulatory requirements and compliance options in 40 C.F.R.
