POSITION STATEMENT CONOCO CHEMICALS We are aware of a meeting recently between NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) and MCA regarding vinyl chloride. Animal tests are in progress to determine effects of long term exposure to vinyl chloride vapor. There is also an epidemiological study in progress to determine any health effect upon people who have worked with vinyl chloride. Both studies are followed diligently by Conoco Chemicals. It is premature to reach any conclusions since the data are very preliminary at this time. DTH 00001843
