The Federal Environmental Protection Agency must be notified 20 days prior to such action. If C E. Thurston and Sons, Inc., is to tear out and discard material, the contractor must be notified of the com pany's intent to comply with the law in this respect. 2. Remove all asbestos materials and fireproofing prior to start of demolition. 3. Prevent escape of asbestos dust by wetting it down prior to demolition and during the entire project by carefully lowering it to the ground or by airtight chute. 4. When tearing out or applying or mixing asbestos pro ducts, plastic bags, sealed when filled, shall be utilized. 5. Caution signs shall be posted to warn other ctafta irv area or the public, as the case may be, of the potential dangers. 6. All personnel working with C. E. Thurston and Sons shall be provided* the proper respiratory equipment to be used if needed or desired. 7. In the event a contractor awards a contract to C. . Thurston and Sons, Inc., which calls for work to begin or be completed within the 20-day notification period, the contractor shall be requested to ask for waivers from the Federal Environmental Protection Agency or C. Thurston and Sons shall request agree ment for remuneration from the contractor of whatever damages are incurred as a result of any fines associajyyjji with an inspection and citation.
