STEAM SUPPLY AND RETURN PIPING (This specification may also be used lor Domestic Hot Water Systems) ihalt be insulated with Careytemp Pipe Insulation with a factory applied standard weight canvas Jacket. The insulation shall be closely butted together and secured in place by pasting down the canvas lap. Elbows shall be insulated with Premolded Careytemp Elbow covers wired in place and finished by pasting on a 4-ounce canvas Jacket. Other fittings, flanges and valves shall be insulated with covers fabricated from Careytemp Pipe Insulation or built-up with MW-One Cement. Finish with 4-ounca canvas pasted in place.

COMBINATION HOT AND CHILLED WATER SUPPLY AND RETURN PIPING {This specification may also be used for Domestic Cold Water Piping) shall be insulated with Dual Careytemp Pipe Covering with a factory applied five resistant vapor barrier jacket. The vapor barrier longitudinal and end laps shall be sealed with a suitable vapor barrier adhesive and secured with metal bands installed at the end laps and in the center of each section. Elbows shall be Insulated with Premolded Careytemp Elbow Covers and all other fittings, flanges, and clamp hangers shall be insulated with fabricated covers made from Careytemp Pipe Insulation pointed with MW-One Cement. All fittings shall ho finished by spiral wrapping with insulating tape, open mesh glass cloth or glass fabric and final coating of the surface with Carey Insulation Seal, Ends of pipe insulation shall he sealed with Carey Insulation Seal at all valves, fittings, flanges, hangers and at least every 21 feet on straight runs.

HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING DUCTS. All air conditioning or comtination heating and cooling supply ducts including return and fresh air
plenums and all outside air ducts shall be insulated with Carey No. 751 Thermoglas Roll Form Insulation (3/4lb, density) faced one side with . 001" Aluminum Foil or Sisalkraft Paper with a 2" tab on one edge. Wrap insulation on ducts with the facing overlapping all joints at least 2" and secure laps with a suitable vapoT barrier adhesive and staples on approxi mately 4" centers. On ducts 30" and greater in width the insulation shall be additionally bonded to the duct surface with a suitable adhesive (spot application) and the underside of the duct shall have mechanical fasteners applied on not more than 18" centers (sheet metal screws and caps, welded pins and clips, etc,} Where the fasteners puncture the facing a 4" square piece of glass fabric shall be used to seal the opening. This glass cloth shall be embedded in Carey Insulation Seal.

LOW PRESSURE HEATING BOILERS shall be insulated with 1-1/2" thick Caroytemp Block. The block shall be (aid up with all joints staggered and securely wired in place. As an aid in holding blocks until wiro on, Carey, temp Adhesive may be used for a temporary bond. A spot application will suffice. Finish with a smooth trowel coat of Carey MW*Ono Cement over the blocks. Do not insulate the front of hand fired boilers.
