Lewis for OSHA and those asterisked for Tenneco was held on October 4, 1977. The following items were discussed; 1. Lead Monitoring a. Personal Monitoring While the mixer operator, line #1, lead exposure was above the 0.2 mg/m3 TLV for lead, a sufficient reduction of the lead level - about 50% - was achieved in thi3 classification to demonstrate initial abatement attempts are successful. The lead readings for the other three classifications monitored were found to be well below the lead TLV. b. Blood Levels Hr, Lewis suggested a detailed investigation be conducted to determine the reason for the continuing high lead levels found in blood samples taken from E.W. Dillon. 2. Abatement Extension Mr. Lewis pointed out that the final abatement date extension - April 20, 1978 - must be met. He indicated an additional extension will be very unlikely. It was noted by P.R. Scarito that the CAR for the dust collec tion system is in Saddle Brook for signatures. 3. Miscellaneous Mr. Lewis related the following items which he discussed with the Union during the Union - OSHA closing conference: High noise levels in the dicer areas; This item is in the hands of a consulting firm and recommendations are ex pected shortly.
