Stretanski - BW Extension: Subject: Monthly Report For September, 1984 Reference: A. Technical Projects 1. Waxed Extrudates A preliminary sales brochure has been produced and issued. Draft MSDS's have been issued. The first commercial shipment of Cyastab 1800 12k pounds - was made. We are continuing to fine-tune the process for optimum output and quality. We are also acquiring or building the ancillary equipment needed for continuous commercial operation. 2. PPG We are still awaiting the sample of Lead Cyanamid from BASF. When received, we will send a portion to PPG for confirmation that it is the desired product before doing any lab work to duplicate it. 3. Packard Electric Although we have Packard's compounding ingredients, we do not yet have the formulation in which they are to be used. Bob Slapsak has promised to send the formulation. NA 839 HEV. 4-82 4-82 CYWI 1-000113 4. Tenneco Test results thus far on Cyastah 523-0 versus Tribase XL - Oiled in Tenneco's formulation are confusing. This may be due to the fact that the differences in VR readings we see are within the experimental error of the test. So far it appears that, while 800-0 is superior to Tribase - Oiled, 523-0 may be slightly inferior to Tribase XL - Oiled. We will make a 523-0 with Barium Stearate to see if that makes any difference.
