Jon L. Konzen, M.D. Medical Director Owens-Coraing Fiberglas Corporation P.0. Box 901 Toledo, Ohio 43601
Dear Doctor Konzen:
I have a request for two copies of our report, dated December 10, 1963, entitled "On an Environmental Survey of the Plant of Owens-Coming Fiberglas Corporation at Newark, Ohio," and the further request for permission to reproduce additional copies of this report from TabershawCooper Associatec, Inc. of Berkeley, California, who have contracted with NIOSH to prepare a report on the entire subject, with criteria for safety and health in the manufacture and use of this product.
I know Drs. Tabershaw and Cooper well and would be pleased to have the
consent of Owens-Coming through yourself, I presume, to grant their
request.
-
If you will let me have such an authorization, I'll fulfill these requests, and also obtain an authorization from Dr. 7R. R. Suskind, now the Director of the Kettering Laboratory, on behalf of the University of Cincinnati.
If I seem to assume that permission will be granted by Owens-Corning, it is because this report has been entirely favorable to them, and should give none of us any cause for hesitation in its further distribution.
With kindest regards to you as a physician, and to the representatives of Owens-Coming, with whom it was a pleasure and satisfaction to work, I am,
Cordially yours,
RAK: wb
Robert A. Kehoe, M.D. Professor Emeritus of Occupational Medicine
P.S.
Dr. Raymond R. Suskind is now the Director of this Laboratory from which I retired in 1964 (although I continue to work here). Since I signed this report, I have relieved him of the inconvenience of handling this matter with Tabershaw and Cooper.
