Dear Guy:
Further to our recent meetings in your office, we would like to have you develop approximate costs for outfitting subject vessels with sewage holding facilities. The ESSO GETTYSBURG will be in the yard in midApril and we might wish to make this installation at that time. The prices for the other systems can be estimated since they are for budget development only.
Enclosed is a section of the ESSO SAN FRANCISCO class vessels showing the holding facilities. We have installed a 3,500 gallon tank, which handles all of the soil lines and garbage disposal but nothing else. The tanks below the waterline can be emptied by use of an eductor with a ballast or fire pump. On vessels with quarters midships, we would suggest a
1,000 gallon tank midships and a 3,000 gallon tank aft. Because of the potential jumboizing of the ESSO GETTYSBURG class, we plan to have this at 3,500 gal Ions.
We would appreciate your earliest estimate especially since the work might be done on the ESSO GETTYSBURG while in the yard.
Very truly yours
