Dear Mr* Levines
Your letter of January 28th addressed to the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation has been referred to m for further reply*
Yo u r Inforcasti that investigations have been carried on for some time in connection with claims of injury as result of contact with Ethyl Gasoline is correct The facts in the matter are very much as Dr* Edgar has
stated them to be in his letter of January 30th* All of
the evidences of observations of injuries and various types of experlinenfcation with animals indicate that injury from Ethyl Gasoline is not appreciably different from the injury obtained from ordinary gasoline* In fact, the injury which is produced la quite clearly the result of the gasoline Vase and not of the minute amounts of the ingredients of Ethyl Fluid which are added to the gasoline*
If the physicians who have raised the question of the possible specific influence of Ethyl Gasoline are interested In corresponding with me further In the matter, I sho'ild be very glad to give them such information as I have on the treatment of gasoline b u m 3 * However, I take it that they are acquainted with the nature of gasoline burns and that since there Is no peculiar property in the case of Ethyl Gasoline, I shall probably not be able to contribute much to their information on the subject*
Very truly yours,
akis
