Beck, United States Rubber Products Inc. was on the Board o f Directors o f the National Safety Council in 1935 and 1936, and many subsequent years I would expect. I have noted some NSC publications re asbestos and dust hazards in my 4th ed. (pp. 734 736). Shep Hoffman has a "National Safety Council Archive List" with a number o f NSC publications listed, and can probably provide copies of the documents as well (214 443-4319). John Wells, US Rubber, spoke at the big New York Academy o f Sciences conference organized by Selikoff in 1964, published in Vol. 132 o f the Annals o f the NYAS in 1935 on pp. 335-336. Quoted in my book on p. 325. The index cards of the Industrial Hygiene Foundation list US Rubber as having received services in 1950. Uniroyal was represented at meetings o f the Asbestos Textile Institute from the early 1960s on into the 1970s, including General meeting and Board o f Governor's meeting Feb. 3-4, 1971; Air Hygiene and Manufacturing Comm. Mtg. June 6, 1963 and Oct. 3, 1963; Board o f Governor's, Feb. 8, 1968. My ATI minutes are very incomplete, and there are no doubt other dates where Uniroyal was listed as present.
