Director, Industrial Hygiene Section medical Department The Pennsylvania Railroad Company 1955-1961 Organized the first section of its kind among American Rail roads to deal with environmental health problems in the work places. Planned and built an industrial hygiene lab oratory. Inaugurated programs dealing with such factors as diesel exhaust, noise, dermatitis, foundry fume and dust control, welding fumes in construction and repair, solvent vapors in maintenance and repair shops, etc. Head Chemical Hygienist Industrial Hygieno Foundation, Inc. 1947-55 As a member of the Staff of Industrial Hygiene Foundation engaged in the investigation and evaluation of occupational health problems for the Foundation's member companies. This included participation in surveys under supervision, alone, and in a supervisory capacity. The extant of the sur veys ranged from the investigation of individu&l^complaints of occupational hazards to company-wide surveys aimed at outlining the needs for full-time industrial hygiene programs. The latter was accomplished for steel companies, glass manufacturer, petroleum refining company, chemical manufac turer, and a major railroad system.
