* PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT API-95 I THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY UNIVERSITY PARK, PENNSYLVANIA COLLEOE OF CHEMISTRY AND PHYSICS AMERICAN PETROLEUM INSTITUTE RESEARCH PROJECT A2 J. A. Dixon, Director August 23, 1957 Dr. A. Wesley Horton The Kettering Laboratory Department of Preventive Medicine and Industrial Health University of Cincinnati Cincinnati 19, Ohio Dear Wes: This is in regard to your letter of July 29, 1957 requesting the additional 40 gram sample of PSU 504, 7-cyclohexyltridecane. As you are no doubt aware, API 42 normally dispenses 1-2 gram samples of its hydrocarbons and so 40 grams represents a large request, indeed. However, it seems to me that because of the very great interest in and importance of your work we should try to comply with your request. Since these hydrocarbon samples are jointly owned by Penn State and the American Petroleum Institute, I will want to consult with my Advisory Committee from the Institute on your request. My next meeting with the Advisory Committee is on September 12 and since solicitation of their opinion by letter ballot could not be com pleted before this date, I propose to discuss your request with them at that time. I shall let you know of our decision within a few days after that. With best regards. Sincerely, fK. JAD:dw jler&eph A. Dixon Associate Professor of Chemistry ) SC-API-2905
