I believe now the confusion and other details on this unfortunate situation relative to the examination of.. Curtiss-Wright employees at Edwards Air Force Base, California, are now set straight. My purpose in writing this letter is to let you know that while the bill for the examination of certain parties was addressed to me, that I was uncognizant of any of the proceedings in this particular case until I received your letter. In fact, when the invoice arrived in this office I was on vacation in Europe. Apparently, my name was given to the Edwards Medical Center as the one to whom their invoice should be sent and thus I entered into the picture. I understand from Dr. Doty, Ted Lettlefield and Hume Chenault that by now you have been given all the pertinent details on the matter, so I will not further expound on them.
