Arizona Manufacturers Council Honors Best in Manufacturing, Welcomes EPA Administrator to Arizona
Celebrates Manufacturing Day with annual Summit and Awards Luncheon, remarks from congressional delegation members
PHOENIX (October 6, 2017) -- The Arizona Manufacturers Council (AMC) welcomes EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt to our state to celebrate 2017 Manufacturing Day. The AMC applauds the Administration for steadfastly working to provide a more positive and less cumbersome regulatory climate for Arizona manufacturers, all while continuing to protect our environment.
Administrator Pruitt earlier today met with Governor Doug Ducey and relayed that he has approved Arizona's State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision for visibility for SRP's Coronado Generating Station, and has withdrawn the previous Administration's associated Federal Implementation Plan (FIP). The AMC applauds the Administration for taking this action to enhance visibility while simultaneously saving Arizona manufacturers and other energy consumers millions of dollars. This is just one example of the Administration's renewed dedication to state-federal cooperation, which will ultimately result in an improved environment and economy for all Arizonans.
The AMC today also welcomed Senator Jeff Flake, Congressman Andy Biggs, Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema and Congressman David Schweikert to its annual Manufacturing Summit and Awards Luncheon. We thank each of them for their leadership and for honoring our Manufacturer of the Year award winners with their presence.
