The thought occurs to me that these compounds on photolysis might produce free ehlorophenyl radicals which if close to another chlorophenyl would produce a chlorinated biphenyl similar to Aroclor. ThiB mechanism might account for the widespread occurrence of "Aroclors" in soil and sea from pole to pole.
