The Carbon Market Platform brings together a diverse group of countries to discuss how to develop and implement carbon pricing and carbon market mechanisms. Since its establishment in 2015, the annual Strategic Dialogue has grown to include senior representatives from more than 20 countries and international organizations. These officials are ideally situated to explore connections between political and technical challenges in carbon pricing at the domestic and international levels. We are inviting senior representatives (Director General or equivalent) to join this dialogue to share knowledge and best practices on carbon pricing implementation, including common strategic, technical and institutional considerations. Participation will be limited to Head of Delegation plus one. The Dialogue also seeks to discuss potential synergies between domestic and international market mechanisms, without prejudice to ongoing negotiations under the Paris Work Programme. A formal invitation and draft agenda will follow in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we encourage all interested participants to consult the following link to find out what document(s) may be necessary for travel to Canada: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit.
