Filters No filters containing asbestos fibers are used in the Resin Plant. 2. Tower Reactors The tower bottom of the dispersion resin towers are sealed with Teflonimpregnated asbestos seals. 3. Autoclave Reactors a. Lenape Covers (PVC) The bottom part of the Lenape cover is sealed with a lead-covered asbestos gasket. b. Nozzle Gaskets (PVC and Copolymer) All reactor nozzle gaskets (water, VCM, etc. feeds) are made of Teflon-impregnated asbestos. 4. Dryers The steam coils for the dispersion and suspension resin dryers are us ing asbestos strips. Dryer flanges are gasketed with asbestos gaskets. 5. Pipe Flanges Part of the gaskets used Cor this application are made out of asbestos compound with no fiber exposure on the gasket surface. 6. Pumps While most of the pumps used in Burlington have mechanical seals, some pumps require an asbestos packing for proper sealing.
