CENTRO remains committed to providing affordable, reliable, and efficient transportation services to the communities it serves, and maintaining safe facility working conditions. CENTRO has also long committed to a lower emissions fleet, with approximately 90% of its fixed route buses fueled by compressed natural gas. With funding, the Oneida Facility Consolidation Project will address critical operation needs and provide the foundation for a resilient, service-ready transit future across Oneida County and the wider region. In addition to accommodating the expansion of transit service into adjacent counties, CENTRO is taking a critical step toward building a more efficient, sustainable, and reliable transportation network with an expanded capacity for service growth and regional access. The facility consolidation project is also essential to supporting the transition of its current fleet of 38 fixed-route diesel and paratransit gasoline vehicles to lowand zero-emission vehicles, which requires technology and infrastructure implemented through the consolidation project.
